Abiodun Adeniyi, a professor of communications at Baze University in Abuja, claims that the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC) strategy to use FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to dismantle the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already effective.
During an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” on Monday, Prof. Adeniyi made the declaration while answering questions.
He was responding to the PDP’s national convention that took place on Sunday at Abuja’s MKO Abiola National Stadium.
He claimed that since 2023, Wike has supported the APC and President Bola Tinubu, pointing out that things had stabilized.
He said it seems like the PDP won’t play a role in the general elections in 2027.
“APC’s strategy to undermine the PDP through Wike is already effective. And heading into the election of the following year, it’s even stabilizing and becoming much more sustained.
“Wike has made it clear that he does not want the PDP to field a candidate who is strong enough to take on President Tinubu. “He wants to support the President without a doubt,” Adeniyi stated.
