If Peter Obi is elected president and chooses to serve multiple terms, political activist Aisha Yesufu has promised to resist him.
During an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” on Monday, Yesufu made this claim.
Obi has made a commitment, she argued, and he must keep it.
She emphasizes that the former governor of Anambra State made this statement prior to the 2023 elections, claiming that Obi did not begin declaring that he would serve just one term after the election.
“If Peter Obi is elected president and chooses to serve several terms, I will vehemently oppose him because he made a commitment that he must uphold.
I asked Mr. Peter Obi, “I need your word on this,” as we sat down. I am aware that you already said it. Please say it again. Will you be doing this for just one term? “Even in 2023, I still mean it,” he said to Aisha.
“I was going out telling people and putting my name on the line, so I asked for that clarification.” I don’t play around with my name. I don’t play around with my morals. He added that he made a commitment.
Thus, he is unable to return and declare that he would serve multiple terms. We’ll battle him there. However, I am also aware that he honors his commitments,” Yesufu remarked.
