38 ISWAP terrorists have been eliminated by Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK troops.

The operation was completed on Saturday morning, according to a statement sent by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Joint Task Force’s media information officer.

Before being defeated by the soldiers, the terrorists had attacked the FOB Mandaragirau in Sector 2, Borno State.

The statement claims that the military used well-planned ambushes and a purposeful offensive-defensive strategy to confront the terrorists, forcing the attackers to retreat in disarray.

It was also reported that the troops received close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI in order to improve targeted kinetic reactions against the assailants.

Further significant damages were caused by subsequent exploitation along the terrorists’ escape routes.

Eight dead have been found thus far within the immediate engagement area, and human intelligence from locals confirms that over thirty more terrorists’ bodies and weapons were scattered along the Garin Mallum–Garin Gajere axis into the Timbuktu Triangle, resulting in the neutralization of around 38 terrorists.

Blood trails and abandoned equipment provided proof of this. While there were no fatalities reported, troops also found seven AK-47 weapons, eight magazines, four RPG bombs, and various ammo. One MRAP was struck by RPG fire, but the injured were quickly stabilized.

The statement said, “The extent of enemy casualties has sparked widespread celebration among local communities and highlights the sustained dominance of OPHK troops in denying terrorists freedom of action.”
