Ekiti deputy governor, Afuye votes as polling exercise continues

Ekiti State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Monisade Afuye, on Saturday, cast her vote at Atiba Aafin Ward 1, Polling Unit 003, in Ikere-Ekiti.

Afuye said she was reported to have voted at about 8:50 a.m. The deputy governor congratulated voters for turning out in large numbers to fulfill their civic duty.

“Look for yourselves at how people came out to participate in this election. Not only trooping out, but ready, eager to vote. “I am indeed impressed with this conduct of our voters,” she said.

She said other local governments also reported strong voter turnout.

“This shows that the rigorous campaigns we did are yielding positive results,” Afuye added.

Afuye also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for their conduct.

“I also have to commend INEC and our security agencies. They really worked for this election. “You can see that nobody is being intimidated and I believe if we continue like this, this election may turn out being the best in Ekiti history,” she said.

When asked to predict the outcome, Afuye said Governor Biodun Oyebanji had done well for the state and would be returned.

“Governor Oyebanji is not only winning this election, it is going to be with a wide margin,” she declared.
