Atiku, Peter Obi don’t want to hear good news on Nigeria’s reserves — Presidency

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga has said presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi don’t want to hear the “good news” of Nigeria’s improved foreign reserve.

Onanuga said Nigeria’s foreign reserve increased to $51.04 billion as of June 18.

“This is the highest level the reserve ever got in 17 years,” he said.

Onanuga, in a post on X, said the reserves were $50.5 billion in January 2009.

He said, “Nigeria’s foreign reserves rose to $51.04 billion as at June 18, the highest in 17 years. The reserves stood at $50.5 billion in January 2009.

“This is what Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and other presidential candidates don’t want to hear.

To them, President Tinubu has not done anything since he assumed office.

“But stubborn facts of the administration’s solid achievements keep slapping them in the face.”
