Amaechi VP Rumour: ADC Clarifies No Need For Formal Acceptance Announcement

Worried leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ogun State chapter, have demanded investigation into alleged financial misconduct, abuse of office and unethical conduct involving the party’s chairman, Femi Soluade.

The party leaders, in a petition dated 20th June 2026 addressed to the National Chairman, accused Soluade of assault on his deputy, misappropriation and mismanagement of party funds.

The petitioners; Mahlon Hudu Idris, Ismaila Adejumon, Temitope Adebayo and Rashidat Yekin said the petition is out of their commitment to the principles of accountability, transparency, justice, discipline and respect.

Remember Soluade was appointed acting chairman in December, 2025, after the voluntary resignation of former acting chairman, Abioro Itunu.

The copy of the petition made available on Monday reads, “We, the undersigned leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogun State Chapter, humbly write to draw the attention of the National Leadership to some grave allegations and concerns about the conduct of Otunba Femi Patrick Soluade, who was appointed as Acting Chairman of the party in Ogun State in December 2025 after the voluntary resignation of former acting chairman Itunu Abioro.

“This petition is borne out of our commitment to the principles of accountability, transparency, justice, discipline and respect for the constitution of our great party.

We believe that the issues raised herein have become matters of grave concern and could affect the unity, credibility and electoral prospects of the party if not urgently addressed.

“We hereby demand an immediate investigation into the allegations of the management and use of the funds of the Ogun State chapter of the party.

“Party leaders and stakeholders have concerns about the administration of funds lodged in the above account and whether such funds have been administered in line with established party procedures and financial regulations.

“We, therefore, call for an audit of all inflows and all outflows of the account from the inception of the tenure of Otunba Femi Patrick Soluade.

We are further advised that the other authorized signatories to the party account have been removed without due consultation, approval or authorization from the appropriate organs of the party. If proven, such an action would constitute a serious breach of internal financial controls and would undermine the collective accountability required in the management of party resources.

“We respectfully appeal to the National Leadership to get all relevant account mandate documents, signatory change requests and bank records from Sterling Bank to determine the real position of matters. “Some members of the party have raised alarm over what they call a trend of abuse of office, intimidation and high-handedness in the running of party affairs in Ogun State.

They said the concerns have created divisions in the party and diminished confidence in the state.

The party leaders implored the National Chairman and the National Working Committee to constitute an independent investigative panel to look into all the allegations in the petition, carry out a forensic audit on the Ogun State ADC account with Sterling Bank, investigate abuse of office, intimidation and unethical conduct among other issues.

The Chairman, Ogun State ADC, Femi Soluade, when contacted, denied the allegation, saying it was false and misleading.

“The alleged assault on my deputy is not real and they are on good terms,” Soluade said.

“What they are talking about was just a mistake at that time and it was solved. I have been funding the party myself and I am using the goodwill I have to fund the party as well. “I only brought a few leaders who were my friends to the party who contributed to the party.

“The expenditure of inflow and outflow and all of that has record. “When the time is right I will offer it to National if they’re interested in it and I’m going to go in and come out clean.” “I have my integrity and it can’t be dragged in the mud and for me, I won’t go to the mud with the pig,” he said.
