Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has joked that he has a boring union after being married to the same woman for almost half a century.
During an interview on Yanga FM, Charly Boy was reported to have said that marriage needs constant management, stressing that he and his wife still argue regularly despite the years they have spent together.
Disagreements are normal part of marriage, Charly Boy further explained.
“I’ve been married to one woman for 48 years,” he said. It’s very dull. Imagine eating the same egusi for years, now it’s boring.
“All marriages are about management, even mine. Me and my wife, we like Tom and Jerry. We fight everyday and we go still dey fight and settle am.”
“It’s better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know,” Charly Boy said, recalling his decades-long marriage.
In other news, Charly Boy has reacted to reports that President Bola Tinubu visited detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in prison.
In his post on his 𝕏 page, Charly Boy queried whether any real discussion took place during the alleged visit.
The activist also blamed the situation, saying the government had not been able to address some security challenges while showing attention to the case of Kanu.
He also lamented the state of the country, saying Nigeria could be in serious trouble if the issues that affect the national security are not handled properly.
