The abducted pupils and teachers from Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, have been released after over 50 days in captivity of their abductors.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, announced this in a post on his 𝕏 handle on Friday.
Security forces rescued the teachers and pupils, Onanuga said.

In other news, a joint security team made up of operatives of the Oyo State Police Command, the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes and hunters has rescued a couple abducted by suspected kidnappers in the Oke-Ogun area of the state.
The victims, alhaji Busiru Booni and his wife, Alhaja Pitiku, were rescued unhurt after a gun duel between the security operatives and the suspected kidnappers at their hideout in the forest.
According to reports, the couple were kidnapped by about five armed men who raided Tiro Village in Irawo late Saturday night, July 5, 2026.
The attackers were reported to have opened fire several times before abducting the couple to an unknown destination.
The Oyo State Police Command said the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, ordered an immediate search-and-rescue operation after being informed about the abduction.
The operation involved police officers, Amotekun personnel, community vigilantes and local hunters who know the terrain.
Following the command, the team had an early break when they recovered a Bajaj motorcycle which was reported stolen and later abandoned in a nearby bush.
