Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has boldly declared that President Bola Tinubu will prevail in the state’s 2027 presidential election.

In an interview with well-known journalist Babajide Otitoju, the governor promised to step down if the state’s president is not elected in 2027.

Okpebholo emphasized that Edo’s citizens were fully aligned before 2027, citing state initiatives and governance advancements made since the All Progressives Congress (APC) came to power.

“Everyone in this state supports Asiwaju; there is no opposition here in Edo,” he declared.

Only a few weeks after Okpebholo’s administration launched new state-level infrastructure programs, the video clip of the interview has reportedly continued to trend online with conflicting comments.

The governor acknowledged that the president has a greater political influence in the state than he does.

“In Edo State, Tinubu is more popular than me,” Okpebholo remarked.

“I will step down if he doesn’t win the 2027 Edo presidential election.”

Okpebholo reiterated his threat, saying, “I will step down if he doesn’t win in 2027.”

“Edo people are already aware that Asiwaju’s influence is the reason behind what I’m doing. I’ll tell you. Since there is no resistance in Edo, you will witness the type of outcome that will emerge.

“Everyone here supports Asiwaju. Obaseki’s people are who? Is there a man here at Albasaki? Now let him come in. Does Oshiomole not live here on the street? Oh, let him arrive.

“I’m telling you, any time he comes to Edo, wherever he is, he’ll be hearing me now,” bragged Okpebholo. Let him arrive. I’ll bet with you if he shows up. Can you wager?

“I’m not scaring him.” He’s aware. I’ll let you know whether or not he should attend based on the record.

“You cannot come here and con Edo. Give him. He can’t attend. I’ll tell you. due of his dismal performance. He won’t come because of his dismal record.

“No child on the street will pray for Albasaki when they can stand to pray for me. No street mother will offer prayers for Obaseki.
