Nigeria’s First Lady Promotes Healthy Nutrition Nationwide

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has advised mothers in the country, especially lactating ones, to live healthy lives.

She advised to mark this year’s World Breastfeeding Week in her message.

The First Lady also called on mothers to eat nutritious food to ensure their breastfeeding infants live healthy lives.

“As we mark World Breastfeeding Week 2026, I join the global community in supporting this year’s theme: ‘Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,’ she said.

“Breastfeeding is the foundation of a child’s healthy growth and lifelong development, and a vital investment in families and a nation.

“Healthy lifestyles and healthy eating are good for mothers, especially lactating mothers and their children. Happy World Breastfeeding Week,” she said.

August 3 is celebrated as World Breastfeeding Week every year.
