Afrobeats singer Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has responded to the presence of leading All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and governors in Osun State before the governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
Leaders of the APC and some governors were said to have descended on Osogbo, the state capital, on Wednesday for the party’s last mega rally as it steps up its campaign to wrest the state from the PDP.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and more than 10 governors elected on the platform of the ruling party were present at the meeting.
Those who arrived in Osogbo included the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani.
The APC leaders are confident that the party will win the Saturday’s election and take over the Osun State Government.
In a post on his official X account, Adegboyega Oyetola, former Governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, welcomed the APC leaders to the state.
Davido later responded to Oyetola’s post, and dismissed the possibility of the APC winning the election.
The singer made a biblical reference to mock the large gathering of APC leaders and governors for the campaign.
Davido said even if all 12 disciples of Jesus would come together it would not change what he expects to be the outcome of the election. He reiterated his prediction that the APC would lose the election for the third time.
“If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time,” the singer wrote on social media.
