Ondo State Launches Amotekun Recruitment Exercise

The fifth batch recruitment exercise has begun, according to the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also called the Amotekun Corps.

According to the Corps, the state government-approved recruitment is a part of continuous efforts to improve security and safeguard people’s lives and property throughout the state.

The Corps Commander’s representative, Muyideen Fabunmi, signed and released a statement on Sunday stating that the application period is open from Monday, December 1, 2025, until Monday, December 8, 2025.

Criteria for eligibility
Interested candidates must be Ondo State natives or Yoruba people who have resided in the state for at least ten years, according to the Corps. It is necessary for applicants to supply:

Certificate of Local Government Origin
Evidence that the development levy has been paid for at least three years, either a valid voter’s card or a national identity card
Additionally, candidates must have experience in paramilitary or security-related fields, such as local hunting, building and construction, mechanical or automotive engineering, electrical or electronics engineering, plumbing, welding, painting, tailoring, ICT skills like web or graphics design, or certification in a driving or works superintendent program.

“Spiritual endowment” was another requirement mentioned by the Corps.
Additionally, candidates must be at least 20 years old and have current documentation from a government hospital attesting to their physical and mental health.

Additionally, they must present proof of their moral character that has been approved by a justice of the peace, a notary public, or the chairman of a local government traditional council.
Additionally, candidates must provide proof from a member of their Community Development Association that they have been in their current location for at least three years.

The application process

From Monday, December 1, 2025, until Monday, December 8, 2025, qualified candidates must access and fill out the recruiting form on the agency’s website, http://ossnamot.com.

Completed forms should be sent in a sealed envelope to the following location, together with pertinent credentials and endorsements:

The announcement further stated that on December 8, the day the application closes, shortlisted individuals would receive an SMS notification.

According to reports, the Ondo State House of Assembly passed a bill establishing Ondo Amotekun on March 4, 2020, and it was later changed on July 13, 2022.

The agency’s duties include gathering intelligence, looking into and prosecuting suspects, working with other South-West states that have comparable security agencies, protecting people and property, and ensuring safe travel over the state’s roads, forests, waterways, and other areas.
