Former Big Brother Naija contestant Tochi Okechukwu has advised young women to focus on their education, careers and personal development before getting married.
Tochi shared the advice on Instagram while explaining his position against early marriage among women.
The reality TV star said young women need time to understand themselves, discover their abilities and establish their ambitions before taking on the responsibilities that come with marriage and motherhood.
He expressed concern that women who marry and have children too early may be forced to put their personal aspirations aside.

According to Tochi, a woman with the potential to become a professional, entrepreneur or leader could eventually have her identity defined primarily by her role as a wife.
He clarified that he was not opposed to marriage but believed that the timing of marriage was important.
Tochi encouraged young women to complete their schooling, acquire practical skills and work towards becoming independent before settling down.
He suggested that developing themselves first could give women a stronger foundation for managing both their individual aspirations and family responsibilities.
