Edo Governor Okpebholo Names Former BBNaija Housemate Anto Lecky Special Adviser

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of former Big Brother Naija housemate Munirat Antoinette Lecky, popularly known as Anto Lecky, as Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy.

Lecky previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Creative Economy before her elevation to the new position.

The appointment takes effect from October 12, 2026.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., signed a Letter of Appointment, which Anto Lecky shared on her Instagram page.

According to the letter, the appointment entitles her to all remunerations stipulated in the Political and Public Officers Emolument (Amendment) Law, 2023, which provides for the emoluments of elected political appointees and public office holders.

The letter reads in part, “I write to inform you that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved your appointment as Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy with effect from October 12, 2026.”

She wrote, “The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more. Thank you, Senator Monday, Okpebholo @he_mondayokpebholo, for the opportunity to continue serving Edo people, now as Special Adviser on Tourism and Creative Economy.”

She also thanked her Chairman and the SSG for their support, noting that she had been promoted to do more for her state in just over a year.

“In just a little over a year, I’ve been given a promotion to do more for my state, and I am extremely grateful. My open-door policy remains — feel free to reach out to me with your tourism and creative ideas for the state. Together, let’s take Edo to the World,” she added.

The reality TV star also called on fellow public figures and celebrities appointed by governors to take their roles seriously and return to their states to serve.

“I I would also like to remind my fellow public figures/celebrities who have been appointed by governors to please truly answer the call and do the job. I know how difficult it might be to leave the comfort of your homes and go back to your states, but your people need you and the work is rewarding,” she stated.
