Legendary Nigerian artist Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has expressed outrage over the numerous death threats that his wife Natasha has been subjected to after footage of their altercation in London appeared online.
According to reports, 2Baba’s family filed a petition with the Inspector-General of Police on allegations of abuse and financial theft involving Natasha.
The Idibia family requested in a letter dated November 12 that the police look into instances that they claim have caused the singer financial loss, emotional grief, and reputational damage.
The petition claims that complaints of physical assault incidences in Abuja and the United Kingdom were received from 2Baba and witnesses.
The singer’s family also claimed that Natasha accessed and moved money from his bank and phone accounts without his consent.
Additionally, it is said that she withheld 2Baba’s passport and other personal documents, making it impossible for him to meet his obligations.
2Baba responded by accusing his family of ruining him and publicly harming Natasha’s reputation in a video posted on his social media page on Friday.
The legendary musician emphasized that things have gotten worse and that he will no longer remain silent, emphasizing that he is an adult with the right to make his own decisions.
2Baba added that he is OK and that there is no marriage without problems, noting that his family also did the same to his former wife, Annie.
“This whole situation has gotten dangerously out of hand, Natasha is receiving death threats,” he said in part. I’m going to stop keeping quiet. As an adult, I have the freedom to do as I like and to be with whoever I choose. In reality, my family has ruined me and tarnished someone’s daughter’s reputation while claiming to want to save me.
“Tell me who doesn’t fight with their spouse. Natasha and I had a fight. Even when things are going out of control, I’m fine. My family treated Annie in the same manner.
