In a well-planned ambush at Kurawa Village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division killed 11 terrorists.

According to sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the operation, which was part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, began at around 6:45 a.m. on Sunday after forces were provided with reliable human intelligence regarding the movement of a terrorist organization that was trying to cross into Tara Village in the same council area.

The reports claim that the 8 Division Garrison Strike Team carried out the ambush by successfully stopping the terrorists along their alleged crossing route.

Eleven terrorists were killed in what the source described as a “swift, surgical, and professionally executed” operation. During the battle, eight AK-47 weapons were found.

There is currently a follow-up exploitation mission to clean the surrounding area.

According to security insiders, the operation was one of the most recent victories of Operation FANSAN YAMM, a stepped-up offensive that targets terrorist and bandit networks in Sokoto, Zamfara, and surrounding areas.

According to military authorities, more information will be made public once the battlefield assessment is finished.

According to reports, the 8 Division has increased both intelligence-led and kinetic operations in recent months, weakening a number of criminal enclaves and enhancing security in Northwest areas.
