Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former presidential adviser, has advised President Bola Tinubu to reconsider staying in office, suggesting that resigning could be the best course of action for the nation.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Daybreak on Monday, he claimed that the President’s two and a half years in office had not lived up to the promises made or the accomplishments frequently attributed to him.

He maintained that Nigerians’ everyday struggles are not reflected in the government’s official claims.

“There is a significant difference between what he claims to be doing and what people claim to be living,” he stated.

The President’s security strategy was also criticized by Baba-Ahmed.

“President Buhari left a terrible security situation and Tinubu doesn’t appear to have improved it; rather, it appears that he has made it worse,” he claims.

He stated that Tinubu’s advanced age, his long-standing desire to become president, and the fact that he has “no further value to offer” could be grounds for requesting his resignation.

“I think President Tinubu should quit if he loves the survival of Nigeria,” he declared.

In 2027, he continued, Nigerians should choose for someone else “who has better qualities, whether within or outside his party.”
