Victor Osimhen, a forward for the Super Eagles, may start a new chapter in his career tonight when Galatasaray travels to play Monaco in the UEFA Champions League at 9 p.m.

In just three games this season, Osimhen has scored six goals on the greatest stage in Europe. The Turkish champions have won all of his games and lost the two he missed due to injury because of his finishing.

Prior to Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt, Osimhen tied Burak Yilmaz’s record of scoring in six consecutive European games for the team in 2012. He broke the record for consecutive European goals for the Istanbul giants with his brace against the Norwegian team, bringing the run to seven.

During the group stage victory over Liverpool two months ago, the 26-year-old surpassed Obafemi Martins to become Nigeria’s top scorer in Champions League history.

From his stint at Lille to his historic tenure at Napoli, Osimhen has a knack of shattering records. If he scores at the Stade Louis II tonight, he will join some of the greatest Galatasaray forwards who have excelled in Europe.

In his last eight games, the former CAF Player of the Year has scored twelve goals for the team in all European tournaments. He is now tied with Milan Baros and Shabani Nonda, and he would surpass both with another goal. He is also getting closer to Galatasaray icon Hakan Sukur, who leads him by only one goal in the Champions League.
