The Actors Guild of Nigeria concluded its national election in Benin City, Edo State, and Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa was chosen as its National Vice President.
According to reports, her media office announced the development in a statement on Monday, December 8, 2025.
According to the statement, her new position is a reflection of the guild’s members’ faith in her extensive experience and commitment to the organization’s expansion.
As she assumes the national role, Amusa stated that she intends to provide the AGN Secretariat with new ideas, order, and reliable service.
She went on to say that she thinks her background in acting and filmmaking will enable her to advocate for greater possibilities for Nigerian actors and actresses nationwide.
The actress, who is well-known for her parts in numerous Nollywood productions and for creating films like the Yoruba feature Dewunmi Iberu, expressed her desire for the Nigerian film industry to flourish and occupy its proper position in the country’s growth.
In addition, she is the Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an organization started by Bashorun Femi Branch to unite leading performers from Ijebuland. The organization honors the customs and traditions of Ogun State’s Ijebuland and Remoland.
Rita Daniels, the mother of Nollywood star Regina Daniels, was reportedly unsuccessful in her attempt to become the head of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
She was one of the well-liked candidates in the election that took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, to select Emeka Rollas’ successor.
Abubakar Yakubu, the current National Secretary, was her primary rival and ultimately emerged victorious.
