According to reports, Abubakar Yakubu, the recently elected President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), was engaged in a deadly car accident in Surulere, Lagos.
Recall that Yakubu defeated Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, by a slim margin of 116 votes to 113, with three votes deemed illegitimate.
Preliminary information indicates that one person died as a result of the incident.
According to Sahara Reporters, Yakubu has been placed under police detention at the Barracks Police Station in Lagos’ Surulere neighborhood until the accident’s circumstances are investigated.
Neither the cause of the crash nor the results of current investigations have been made public by the authorities.
