The death of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, has been characterized by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as a tragic and devastating loss to the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor sent his sympathies to the PDP family, the Bayelsa State Government, the state’s residents, and the deceased’s personal family.

He hailed Senator Ewhrudjakpo as a brave Democrat and a devoted party member, and he begged to God for his spirit to rest.

He also prayed that God would give the family and the state’s citizens the strength to deal with the loss.

“I learned of the death of our brother and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on Thursday,” he stated.

He was a devoted party member who prioritized loyalty and dedication to democracy over self-interest, thus both the state he served to the end of his life and the PDP are saddened by his untimely demise.

“I pray to God for his soul to rest and offer my sincere condolences to his family, the government, and the good people of Bayelsa State.

“I also ask God to grant the state and his immediate family the strength to deal with the loss.

“Good night, brave Democrat!”
