Professor Pat Utomi, a political economist, believes that anyone above 70 shouldn’t run for governor or president.

Professor Utomi made this claim on Thursday while answering questions during an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” show.

He was discussing Nigerian public office campaigns.

“I’m adamant that I tell the Nigerian people that no one above 70 should run for any administrative office, including president or governor.

Indeed, some members of the legislature may continue to serve until they are 75 or even nearly 80 years old. However, the Nigerian people cannot continue to accept that those in need of medical care are housed in the presidency.

“The Nigerian taxpayer, who is not receiving the quality of services they should receive from these public office holders, is suffering greatly as a result of this,” he stated.
