Benibo Anabraba, the secretary to the Rivers State Government, has formally left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter dated January 5, 2026, Anabraba informed the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State of his choice.
In the letter, he expressed gratitude for the platform, assistance, and political possibilities the party provided him throughout his tenure as a member while stating that his resignation was due to personal reasons.
In the letter, he made no mention of his next political move.
Reliable sources, however, indicate that the former PDP leader may soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.
