Shehu Sani, a former politician who served as the representative for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has advised Nigerians residing in the United States to remain silent and keep praying in order to prevent President Donald Trump from deporting them.

Sani offered this guidance on Tuesday in a post on his verified X handle.

He claims that Trump has stated that 33% of Nigerian immigrants residing in the US are reliant on government assistance.

“Those in this category should lie low and continue to pray,” he added. Now, everything is based on how he feels. You understand what it means for him to be in possession of the figures.

“Nigerians and Africa should learn to wake up in President Trump’s regime and realize that no place is better than home,” said X user @DannymasterP.

“Nigeria is our home for everyone, and the sooner we learn to be patient and put in all the effort necessary to create something constructive in Nigeria and contribute to national development, the sooner we will be able to stop being insulted by people outside of Africa.”
