As members of the State House of Assembly began the impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Oduh, on Thursday, Rivers State’s political landscape once more changed.
Major Jack, the Majority Leader of the House, formally read the notice outlining the charges of egregious misconduct against Governor Fubara during a plenary session chaired by Speaker Martins Amaewhule.
The notice, which was approved by 26 parliamentarians, charged the governor with allegedly breaking the Nigerian Constitution.
Amaewhule declared that within the following seven days, the governor will get the notice.
Linda Stewart, the deputy majority leader, read the notice of accusations of gross misconduct against Deputy Governor Ngozi Oduh during that same meeting.
