Aminu Tambuwal, a senator from Sokoto South, has stated that former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former presidential contender Peter Obi, and former minister Rotimi Amaechi will back the winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential contest.
Tambuwal said this in response to former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose’s assertion that Obi is the life of ADC.
The former governor stated, “I have been part of the coalition and there is the possibility of transitioning to ADC,” during an appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television. To reach a decision on that, I’m speaking with our Sokoto stakeholders as well as other stakeholders nationwide.
But I don’t support Ayo Fayose; I’ve stated this previously, and I continue to stand by it.
“I think that the ADC’s leadership has promised to hold a very transparent primary election from the very beginning, based on our discussions, and if that happens, all of us in the coalition will support that candidate.
“We will all support Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi. I have been contributing significantly to the coalition, and it would be too insensitive for me to come out right now and say vote based on this or that.”
