Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has cautioned against split within the African Democratic Party (ADC).

A 𝕏 user reportedly questioned Atiku’s silence on his followers’ violence on former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, which led to the caution.

“Atiku’s people want to insult Peter Obi without Atiku getting the heat back,” the message said. Perhaps they believe that Atiku is deserving of respect whereas Peter Obi is not.

The former vice president responded by saying in a post on his 𝕏 Twitter that anyone who disparage him or Peter Obi don’t care about the leaders, the ADC coalition, or the nation as a whole.

Atiku warned supporters about internal attacks, emphasizing that they jeopardize Nigeria’s democratic progress and opposition unity.

He claimed that internal conflicts only help the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he claimed profited from divide within the opposition.

He emphasized the importance of unity between opposition leaders and followers.

“Anyone who insults Obi or Atiku does not mean well for the leaders, the Coalition ADC, and for Nigeria and Nigerians,” the author stated. The APC urban bandits who seek to uphold the demonic status quo are the only ones who stand to gain from such a civil war. We work better as a team!
