Buba Galadima, a prominent member of the New Nigeria People’s Party, has refuted assertions that the All Progressives Congress will win the 2027 presidential contest.

In a recent interview, he reportedly stated that the competition is still open.

On February 4, 2026, Galadima—who is rumored to be linked to former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso—stated that winning numerous states does not guarantee success at the federal level.

He cautioned the media and Nigerians not to presume that the ruling party had already won the next election.

Additionally, he made fun of President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of operating above the law and voicing concerns about the abuse of power.

Galadima emphasized that Nigeria’s democracy must function within the bounds of the law and questioned the notion that any leader is immune from criticism.

Regarding the judiciary’s role, the NNPP leader stated that it must be free to operate without interference from politics.

He asserts that respect for the rule of law and just decisions are essential to democracy’s strength.

Galadima also denied assertions that the Peoples Democratic Party is ineffective or weak.

He said that if the PDP offers Nigerians the best candidate, it will be able to come back stronger and win the next presidential election.

Additionally, he warned that any attempt to rig the election would be met with opposition.

As 2027 approaches, he predicted that significant changes could occur in Nigeria’s political landscape.

“Go write down that I said it,” he said. Does God Exist in Tinubu? Go ahead and put it in writing that I believe the PDP will prevail in the upcoming presidential election because it can recover with the right candidate.
