Nigerians and military personnel were reassured by President Bola Tinubu on Friday night that the nation would eventually overcome all types of insecurity.

The president declared that Nigeria’s valiant service members’ efforts would never be in vain.

At an interfaith breaking of fast with military personnel at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu made the assurance.

He reiterated the dedication of his administration to the well-being of commanders and soldiers on the front lines.

Regarding my recent approvals to the Nigerian Armed Forces, I have listened to the Chief of Army Staff.

“Knowing that you are frequently away from your families, it is my responsibility to thank each and every one of you on behalf of a grateful nation.”

He pointed out that despite protecting the country, many military men still have to deal with attacks from terrorists and bandits.

“I commend your bravery, sacrifice, and professionalism as you put your lives on the line in defense of Nigeria’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens. Some of you are facing attacks by bandits and terrorists.”

The president claimed that the Armed Forces’ valiant efforts have continued to weaken the capabilities of bandits and terrorist organizations operating throughout the nation.

“You have been putting forth endless effort to defend our sovereignty and serve the nation.”

“I promise that your sacrifices will not be in vain, and this country will always be grateful to you,” he declared.

In order to improve operational effectiveness, Tinubu also promised the Armed Forces ongoing investments in cutting-edge gear, intelligence, and logistics.

He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their perseverance and support throughout the current economic reforms.

“I am pleased to tell you that the sacrifices you and your fellow citizens have made are not in vain; we are now emerging from the dark tunnel.”

In response to the recent terrorist incident in Borno State, Tinubu also expressed his condolences to the state’s government and citizens.

Earlier, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, and Gen. Oluwafemi Oluyode, the Chief of Defense Staff, praised the President for approving measures that improved employee welfare.

“I would want to thank the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for giving me the chance to commemorate the breaking of fast for both religions.

He declared, “This special time gives us the chance to renew our service and commitment to our fatherland.”

Shaibu expressed gratitude to the president for approving the increase in military personnel’s pay and benefits.

“These permissions also cover the purchase of equipment and the provision of suitable housing for Armed Forces personnel,

“They are well received by all members of the Armed Forces and will go a long way in improving our operational efficiency,” Shaibu continued.
