Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, is allegedly connected to a number of real estate holdings in Egypt that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) found.
The assets are allegedly relevant to the ongoing ICPC inquiry into events that occurred while El-Rufai was the governor of Kaduna State.
Three villas and six flats were found, all reportedly situated in upscale neighborhoods and estates in Cairo, Egypt’s capital.
Villas at Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate in New Cairo are sold for between $1,000,000 and $1,300,000, according to TheCable’s findings.
Apartments in Cairo Festival City, on the other hand, cost about $500,000 each.
According to sources cited in the current investigations into El-Rufai’s tenure, the properties were bought between 2021 and 2023 when he was still Kaduna State’s governor.
A villa in Arabilla Estate in Cairo’s fifth settlement area, a villa at Banafsik Estate in New Cairo’s first settlement area, and a villa in Oriana II, New Cairo (close to American University) are among the properties linked to El-Rufai.
Four flats in Cairo Festival City and two more in Oriana Estate, New Cairo, are examples of additional properties.
According to reports, the ICPC is looking into claims that el-Rufai embezzled money while serving as Kaduna State’s governor from 2015 to 2023.
Since February 18, 2026, he has been under the care of the ICPC.
El-Rufai was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) just before he was placed under ICPC custody regarding his claim that Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, had had his phone tapped.
