Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Director of News at Television Continental (TVC), has said that if Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde had been in office for his first term, he would have defected.
Otitoju reportedly made this statement on TVC’s “Breakfast Show” on Friday while discussing the PDP issue and the defections that have shaken the party.
He emphasized that two judges had prevented Makinde’s team from hosting the PDP’s National Convention in Ibadan in November, calling it a waste of time.
Otitoju went on to say that if Makinde had been in his first term, his second term would have been in jeopardy because he would have deserted to another party, like the “dancing governor.”
“People must demonstrate sound judgment during a crucial stage,” he stated. Why had that convention been held? Despite being told by two courts not to proceed, you did so.
Even if I don’t like former Senate President Bukola Saraki, I will be the first to acknowledge whatever he says that makes sense. When he suggested that we choose a caretaker, he made sense. What good is it to ignore him?
“Later on, you’ll be yelling that the ruling party is to blame for your crisis, even if you are the one who created your own bad luck. This is a problem that you made.
“Makinde’s second term would have been in jeopardy if he had been in his first term; he would have fled like the dancing governor.”
