After a series of public exchanges, veteran journalist Dele Momodu and former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode have started a new verbal sparring match.

In a forceful reply, Fani-Kayodnaie denounced Momodu’s previous statements, calling them politically motivated and untrue.

In response to the criticism, Fani-Kayode insisted that he had left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2021 and refuted allegations that he had sought political alignment with former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

He also contested claims made about his political significance and history.

Fani-Kayode took advantage of the occasion to defend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, refusing to draw parallels between the current government and previous military governments.

He cited the President’s recent travels overseas to support his claim that he is still actively involved in international diplomacy.

The former minister claimed that Momodu’s perspective was biased and that the criticism of him and the President was motivated by political opposition.

In addition, he maintained that the current government would maintain its political hegemony prior to the general elections in 2027.

“All I know about you is that you were once a journalist, you followed Chief MKO Abiola around like a court jester and collected crumbs from him for most of your life, you became a hustler and a photographer after he was incarcerated, and you ran for president a number of years ago and received only one vote, which came from your wife,” stated Fani-Kayode.

“I won’t bother delving into your family history because there is nothing to discuss, which is why you have such a horrible inferiority complex and a grudge. But all of that is meaningless.

The only thing that matters is that, while you are still in Nigeria licking Atiku’s behind, the man you accuse of being an Abacha and a tyrant is currently in Windsor enjoying dinner with the King.

“I’m sure you would have been happier and less resentful and irritated if your now-defunct Ovation magazine had been asked to cover the event.

Beyond that, President Tinubu WILL be re-elected in 2027, whether you like it or not. This is the root of your suffering, and nothing you do or say about me or him will change it.

“You can insult me all you want, but it’s like ducking off a lake and coming back to me. Nigeria and the fact that animals like you and those you represent never come close to power are the only things that matter.

“You called me a pig, but take a look at yourself in the mirror and tell me which of us looks more like a pig.

“Your greatest suffering is your extreme ugliness, huge stomach, and poor breeding.

We hope it doesn’t lead to an unanticipated demise for you. You were, are, and will always be nothing more than Atiku’s sidekick.

“I implore you to accept this unpleasant reality and to calm down. I hope it doesn’t kill you with a heart attack.

“I don’t have time for anything else. I’ve been called to serve my country once more, and that is my main priority.
