In the next 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) group led by Nyesom Wike has maintained that it will not back President Bola Tinubu.
This was revealed on Monday by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, during an interview on Channels Television’s “Morning Brief.”
The PDP would run its own presidential candidate in the 2018 elections, he claims.
“In the general election of 2027, we would not back President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. To field our own candidate, we shall use every effort.
And I’m pleading with Nigerians to allow us a little more time before we hold our primaries.
“All of the rumors that we are either APC supporters or APC appendages will come to pass.
“Time will resolve all of these rumors and falsehoods. Either the PDP or the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, are to be discredited,” he stated.
