The All Progressives Congress (APC) does not intend to rezone its political positions before to its national convention, according to Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

Following a Progressives Governors Forum meeting in Lagos on Sunday, Uzodinma revealed the information to reporters.

He insisted on maintaining the current zoning regulations.

“We won’t re-zone. The offices are zoned already. The President continues to hold office. The Vice President remains in his position.

It should go without saying that the positions will stay in place under the Electoral Act.

“This specific convention is not intended for primaries. INEC will hold the primaries for elected offices.

Uzodinma said, “This convention is for party officers who will run our party.”

In the meantime, Uzodinma has visited with important All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the state ahead of the party’s planned national ward and local government congresses, encouraging members to be cohesive and concentrated.

The governor reportedly stated that the results of the congresses would influence the party’s future and electoral prospects when he spoke to party officials yesterday at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers in Government House.

Uzodinma emphasized the necessity of peaceful harmonization between candidates and party faithful, emphasizing that harmony and discipline among members remained crucial to maintaining election triumphs.

“I implore interested parties to work together to strengthen the Party’s organization and improve its chances of winning elections. The cooperation and sincerity of its members are essential to the Party’s success, he stated.

Additionally, he urged party officials to take into account different viewpoints while making decisions and promoted inclusive leadership.

“I support inclusive leadership and the consideration of all Party viewpoints when making decisions.

“I urge adherence to dialogue to resolve disagreements because APC is a family bound by a common vision for development,” the governor continued.

The governor insisted that the party’s unity is what makes it strong and urged members to put the group’s goals ahead of their own.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to security and development while praising the efforts of grassroots activists and party officials in extending the party’s influence throughout the state.

MacDonald Ebere, the party’s state chairman, praised members for their efforts during the current electronic registration process.

Additionally, he urged members to continue their dedication to a peaceful congress and thanked the governor for creating what he called an enabling climate for the party to flourish.

In a same vein, Godwin Anawore, Chairman of the Committee for the Ward and LGA congresses, emphasized the significance of the exercise and expressed hope for the party’s future.

He noted that the congress will be essential in bolstering the party in advance of next elections and praised the governor’s role in promoting unity among members.
