President Bola Tinubu’s accomplishments caused a confrontation between Biodun Ajiboye, the Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, and a journalist from ARISE Television on Saturday.
When queried about the present administration’s socioeconomic indices during the interview, Ajiboye reportedly claimed to be unaware of what was going on in Nigeria.
The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed that the journalist is ignorant of the events and changes under President Tinubu since she has restricted herself to the studio.
“Just because you’re always in the studio, you probably don’t know what’s going on in Nigeria,” he remarked.
Ajiboye went on to discuss the positive things the party has accomplished, but he did not provide information on which socioeconomic indicators—such as life expectancy, maternal mortality, childhood education, poverty levels, and health outcomes—have improved under the President.
“When you have the kind of economic confusion and doldrums that we had in Nigeria, a lot of reasons account for the economic situation,” he said, placing the blame on the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. Due to numerous causes, we encountered a great deal of economic confusion.
“Our borrowings were skyrocketing, a subsidy was a cankerworm, we printed N30 trillion to pump money into the economy indiscriminately, and all of them were conditions that needed a speedy fix. There were situations that will aggravate poverty, will exaggerate social, social protection, etc.
