Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has criticized Peter Obi, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, claiming that he has the skills needed to guide and resolve Nigeria’s issues.

Wike stressed that boldness, toughness, and dedication are necessary for effective leadership while discussing political events and leadership.

Being a leader requires courage, strength, commitment, and the capacity to persist with your choices. He stated, “What you’ve seen, like some governors quitting their jobs, demonstrates that they didn’t possess the traits of a good leader.”

He said that the previous presidential candidate failed to demonstrate strong leadership when it was most needed, drawing comparisons to Obi’s period amid internal Labour Party disputes.

“I likened them to the past Labour Party presidential candidate who was given a platform by them.

“He needed to take charge and lead when the crisis hit the Labour Party, but he avoided taking responsibility because he couldn’t find solutions,” Wike stated.

Additionally, the minister noted that certain governors failed to maintain their resolve when faced with political challenges.

When a crisis arose and our governors were expected to demonstrate leadership, bravery, and forward-thinkingness, they fled because they were seeking a platform. He continued, “This is to let you know who can stand in a crisis.

Since their performance will have an impact on their political careers, Wike urged elected representatives to continue being accountable to the voters.

“Let nobody assume that simply because the president and his accomplishments have been discussed, none of you will be covered.

“If you accept our mandate, we will take back your report card during this period, which is an operational show,” he said.
