Atiku Abubakar, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has promised to support the party’s presidential candidate.
Even if the party’s presidential candidate is young, Atiku declared he will support them.
Atiku refuted allegations that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, could weaken the ADC in an interview with DW Hausa, pointing out that the party has continued to draw members from all over the country.
“We will support and endorse whoever emerges as the flagbearer,” he declared. How many of us are running for president—three or four? Over ten of us ran in the PDP.
“The party has been taken control by young people. Young people make up the majority of individuals running for elective office, from councillor to State Assembly, National Assembly, and House of Representatives. We have always maintained that women and young people belong in our party. It is our responsibility to generate the opportunity and transfer it to them.
Atiku responded, “Yes, why not,” when asked if he would support a young person running for president if ADC did.
“Everything has been done for me by Allah. I’ve returned home with my sons and grandchildren. “What’s in store for them and their kids in the future?” he said.
