Speaking about the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, the Nigerian Army commander who was slain by terrorists during an ambush in Borno State in November 2025, journalist and Arise TV host Oseni Rufai broke down in tears.

Rufai recalled the terrible circumstances surrounding the senior officer’s last moments during the broadcast, stating that he is still on the verge of tears.

Rufai claimed that after his crew was heavily attacked during a mission, General Uba sent out a distress message. The commander reportedly called for assistance because his gadget was running low on battery.

“Dr. Abati, I want to cry.” He was in the jungle, General Uba. Speaking passionately during the show, Rufai added, “He had low battery and made a message saying “please come and save me.”

He bemoaned the lack of prompt assistance.

The next thing we learned was that he had been apprehended and killed by the bandits. He said, “Recall how General Uba’s wife sobbed that we failed him.

In Damboa, Borno State, Brigadier General Musa Uba commanded the 25 Task Force Brigade.

He was well-known for spearheading operations from the front lines in the battle against insurgency in the northeastern region of Nigeria.

While returning from a regular military operation, the senior officer was slain when fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) ambushed his convoy near Wajiroko in Damboa Local Government Area.

The Nigerian Army honored him for his gallantry and dedication to commanding troops in combat against terrorists, despite early accusations from terrorist propaganda that he was arrested and subsequently executed.
