The rumors that there was an attempt to oust Senate President Godswill Akpabio have been refuted as false by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele.
Bamidele clarified during Wednesday’s plenary that there had been no planning or discussions among senators about Akpabio’s removal, claiming the news was meant to incite needless conflict within the National Assembly.
The Senate Leader believes that the Red Chamber of the National Assembly is still cohesive and concentrated on important national issues rather than being sidetracked by untrue allegations.
None of our colleagues attempted to remove the Senate President from office, and there was no conversation about doing so.
“Because there are pressing matters of public importance that require our focus, we are completely united and have a zero-tolerance policy to diversions. These kinds of reports are obviously intended to cause confusion,” he stated.
