Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, has explained why he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amaechi, who is now one of the main candidates for president for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on Channels TV on Friday.

The former governor said that the former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, chased him out of the PDP and took over the party structure in Rivers.

Amaechi said that the same thing happened in the APC when he ran against Bola Tinubu for the party’s presidential primary election.

Amaechi said, “I was chased out of PDP and APC by the then president,” when asked why he switched parties.

“The president and his wife took control of the party in Rivers State and kicked me out.” The same thing happened with APC.
