The Obidient Movement has alleged that the splinter group that expelled former presidential candidate, Peter Obi and Yunusa Tanko, is trying to create confusion as to its identity.

Tanko, the National Coordinator of the movement, stated in a signed statement that the Obidient Movement does not recognize any parallel structure within its ranks.

The Obidient Movement Rebrand group held a press briefing in Abuja where they expelled Obi and Tanko from the group.

“We rejected the expulsion. Tanko said in a statement said: “We became aware of the activities and announcements by some individuals and groups who are trying to operate under names and structures that are meant to create confusion about who they are, who leads them, or any changes that are happening.

“For the purpose of clarity, the Obidient Movement does not recognize any other groups, divisions or leaders other than its official leadership which is in tandem with His Excellency, Peter Obi.

“All groups, organizations, and individuals who purport to represent the Obidient Movement, its principles, and its leaders, under any name or disguise, have been advised that they do not represent the Obidient Movement.”
