The well-known musician D’banj has revisited the Mo’Hits divorce, disclosing that Don Jazzy, his partner and top producer and music executive, was the one who proposed their separation.
Remember that in 2012, Don Jazzy announced the dissolution of Mo’Hits, citing a dispute with D’banj as the cause?
D’banj asserted that Don Jazzy was solely to blame for Mo’Hits’ breakup in a recent episode of Seun Okinbaloye’s Mic On podcast.
“If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t have changed anything about my relationship with Don Jazzy, especially because I wasn’t the one who suggested that we part ways. It was entirely Don Jazzy’s. And for that reason, there is no problem.
“I got 100% of my catalog from Jazzy, plus maybe ten more songs that I haven’t released yet. He said, “It was a journey for me, even if he had his opinion. I knew that we needed to cement that global movement, and I’m grateful that God still did it for us with ‘Oliver Twist,’ which was the last album we recorded together.
D’banj stated that he doesn’t regret splitting from Don Jazzy, emphasizing that their breakup was inevitable.
But he acknowledged that working with Don Jazzy was something he missed.
