Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Friday, said his daughter had advised him to work with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the 2023 general elections.

The former presidential aspirant disclosed this on Monday, during an interview on ARISE News, while speaking on the changing political attitudes of young Nigerians.

Many young people are less concerned about ethnicity and religion and are more interested in leadership and governance, he said.

“In my own house, my own daughter was telling me to go and work with Peter Obi, even in the 2023 election, he said.

The former governor said that the political choices of young Nigerians were often different from those of the older generations, adding that many political leaders had failed to understand the increasing influence of the youth and social media on the country’s political direction.

“You have leaders who have very little contact with the young men and women,” he said.

He said the young voters are getting more demanding for credible leadership that can address the country’s challenges instead of depending on religious or ethnic sentiments.

“People are talking religion. Some people talk about ethnicity but the younger people are looking for the right leadership for this country. And I think they are right,” he added.
