The BoT and NEC meetings of a group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by factional National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman and loyal to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, have been scheduled for Tuesday, November 18.

According to reports, Sam Anyawu, the factional National Secretary, revealed the agenda for the Board of Trustees and National Executive Council meeting in a notice.

The announcement stated that the meetings would take place at the PDP National Secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

According to Anyawu, “attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.”

Recall that on Saturday, another PDP group that supports Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde held its national convention.

Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu, and Dan Orbih were among those expelled from the convention, which was chaired by Umar Damagum, the immediate past acting national chairman.

The State Working Committees in Abia, Imo, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River were also abolished in a broad motion.

Along with other party officials, governors Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau attended the ceremony.

Governors Fintiri and Mutfwang, however, have openly disassociated themselves from the expulsion process.

The departure of the FCT minister and his supporters is perceived as the most recent development in the ongoing struggle for control between Wike and the PDP Governors’ Forum, which is headed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
