Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obi Cubana, has allegedly deleted all Instagram posts related to the City Boy Movement, a pro-President Bola Tinubu organisation.
The development follows criticism by some Nigerians over his public endorsement of the Tinubu administration.
It was recalled that Obi Cubana had earlier been named as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven political advocacy platform promoting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The businessman has not, as of the time of filing this report, issued an official statement on the removal of the posts.
Obi Cubana has come under fire from some Nigerians following his association with the pro-Tinubu group.
His position in the City Boy Movement drew reactions online, particularly from those who held him responsible for his support of the current administration.
The removed posts were allegedly related to his involvement with the movement and its activities.
His Instagram handle was checked and found to have no posts associated with the political movement as of filing this report.
However, it was unclear whether the removal of the posts was a sign that Obi Cubana was leaving the group or simply a personal decision to tidy up his social media page.
The City Boy Movement is a youth advocacy and civic engagement platform.
The group was formed to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and mobilize grassroots support for the administration.
Reports say the organisation wants to empower young Nigerians and improve communication between the government and local communities.
It has also taken part in campus tours, rallies and food drives, including the distribution of cash grants and relief materials to vulnerable households across the country.
The reactions have continued to grow but Obi Cubana has not publicly reacted to the alleged deletion of the posts.
