Bashir El-Rufai, son of former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has debunked reports that his father’s criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu was due to his failure to secure a ministerial appointment.

The trouble started after a 𝕏 user asked if El-Rufai would still be at loggerheads with the APC if he was appointed into Tinubu’s cabinet.

“Let’s be honest here please. Do you think Mallam Elrufai will continue to fight APC if he gets the ministerial position? asked the user @ie_mooh.

Bashir replied that even if his father had become a minister, he would not have lasted long in office. He said the former governor would have gotten tired of the way things were being done and would have likely resigned.

He also took a swipe at the current federal cabinet, describing it as a cartel and it would have been hard for his dad to operate comfortably within it.

“Perhaps, perhaps not. I am sure of one thing, he would have resigned immediately especially after finding out that he is a minister in a cabinet that is effectively a Cartel Led by the Chief importer”, he replied.
