Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents the Abia South Senatorial District, reacted angrily to the purported evacuation of Nigerian military in Kebbi State, claiming that this action made it possible for 24 schoolgirls to be kidnapped.

Abaribe, speaking on Monday during an interview on Prime Time on Arise Television, maintained that responsibility must be fixed.

He emphasized that serious concerns regarding national security cooperation are raised by this development.

Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, claimed that soldiers assigned to guard the school were evacuated at around three in the morning on November 29, 2025, a week after the incident.

It was determined that the terrorists assaulted the school in Maga less than 45 minutes after the troops left.

In response to the incident, Abaribe stated, “Why do we have to quarrel over this? There is a commander present. There is a hierarchy, and whomever gave the order to remove troops in Kebbi needs to be fished out.

The public believes that there is collaboration because of the government’s and military officials’ inaction. And who is safe if there is collusion?

This implies that I am not safe even if there are soldiers nearby. You are no longer convinced that even the troops around you can hand you over to the bandits and then you become a victim.

“That is just the point. There comes a period in the country’s life in which this I don’t know how I would describe it today but I would say that we must terminate all these.”
