If Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke formally declares for the platform to pursue his second-term ambition in the 2026 off-cycle election, the Accord Party will be pleased to welcome him, according to Lagos State Chairman Dele Oladeji.

Hours after Adeleke left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to long-term leadership issues and internal instability, Oladeji spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.

In the interview, Oladeji maintained that Accord remained poised and hopeful, “We are waiting for his declaration. That is what we can say for now. We are waiting for when he would declare for Accord.”

He added that the party’s doors were already open, “In Accord, we are ready for him. Whenever he decides to walk in, we are set to receive him.”

Oladeji positioned Accord as a haven devoid of political instability, arguing the party offered the stability Adeleke allegedly needs ahead of the polls, “Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform. We have no groups and no godfathers.”

He highlighted the peace-factor assurance for new entrants, “Any candidate who joins us between now and 2027 is sure of a peaceful and dependable structure.”

He claimed that serious job seekers find it appealing because there is no internal squabbling, godfather politics, or structural confusion.

It was understands that Adeleke, who is looking for a second tenure in the 2026 fight, is actively considering a more secure political platform that can support his 2026 re-election campaign

Oladeji confirmed support and preparedness to deploy party machinery if Adeleke takes the move, “If he decides to step in, we will be ready to work with him and ensure his success.”
