Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has urged the party to stay together even after the primary election.

In an interview on Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Friday, Rhodes-Vivour made this request.

He stated that the ADC now has roughly two million registered members and that the party leadership is working to raise the figure.

The former Labour Party candidate for governor of Lagos State added that the ADC will not overlook the reality that other party factions with ardent supporters are vying for the presidency.

He says that as a party, they need to control their emotions and help people see the wider perspective.

“I won’t minimize the method by which a candidate for president will be chosen. Indeed, there are a lot of people who fervently support them.

They are not ardently supporting you just because you are giving them money. We must handle that as a party. We must control such feelings using the pragmatism of politics.

“This comes with the messaging, not only from the party itself but also from leading candidates, to let people see the bigger picture because it is pointless to complain about a reality in the country, and you just threw the baby out of the bath water if your candidate loses.”

“Everyone needs to join in opposition, as we witnessed the results of the most recent elections. Thus, that is the message that will be sent to everyone,” he stated.
