According to All Progressives Congress National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is employed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Even though Wike is not an APC member, Basiru explained, he works for Tinubu’s APC-led federal administration.

During an appearance on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines, Basiru said that the party’s victory in the most recent FCT local government elections was largely due to the extent of infrastructure development that has occurred throughout the Federal Capital Territory over the previous two and a half years.

He described the minister’s performance as “sterling” and pointed out that gains were seen in both urban and suburban areas.

“The APC’s electoral victory in the FCT was largely due to the minister’s administrative efforts, the party’s strategic engagement, and the careful selection of candidates with credible political track records across various parties,” Basiru continued.

The party’s electoral triumph, he emphasized, is inextricably linked to the efficient distribution of democratic dividends under the current FCT administration.

Basiru states: “Wike works for an APC government led by Tinubu, but he is not a member of our party.”

“When you look at the enormous amount of infrastructure development that has taken place in the FCT, both in the suburbs and in the cities.

You’ll find that over the last two and a half years, the FCT Minister’s outstanding performance, our party’s engagement, and the careful selection of candidates with stellar backgrounds from various political parties have all helped the APC win the local government elections in the FCT.

The success of our party in that election, therefore, does not negate the efficient administrative implementation of the benefits of democracy in the FCT under the current FCT administration.
